7 Great Online Image Editing Apps
The vast majority of people don't really need heavyweight image editing applications like Photoshop or Aperture. Luckily, you can find a lot of great, online applications that'll do just fine for some simple everyday photo editing tasks. Interestingly enough, although there's a lot of competition in this space, we constantly see new apps sprouting everywhere. Therefore, we bring you seven apps you may have missed.
1.viary Phoenix - A.viary is aiming to launch a mind boggling number of online apps, but the first launch is Phoenix, their image editing software. Fairly robust, and shows an awful lot of promise. Unfortunately, currently it is in invite-only alpha mode.
2.FlauntR.com - Offers lots of effects separated in to different sections to make it jump to just want you want to do, such as photo editing in editR, or adding text in textR. Works in all browsers and moves fairly quickly.
3.FotoFlexer.com - More attuned to the "social networking crowd", it allows you direct editing access to your photos on sites such as MySpace and Facebook, this is perfect for the casual user. According to recent news reported by Mashable's Kristen Nicole, they will be adding several new high-end features.
4.Lunapic.com - A bit simple in the interface, and it reloads every time you want to use a tool, but it gets the job done.
5.Phixr.com - Features some pretty easy effects that require only one-click, such as converting to sepia tone. Offers extremely easy exporting to other file formats such as PNG, JPG, and more.
6.Picnik.com - Allows you to open files you have, or ones you've stored on sites such as Flickr and PhotoBucket. Has a nice selection of features for free accounts, upgrade for more features costs $24.95 a year.
7.Splashup.com - Formerly Fauxto, Splashup offers an amazing range of features for an online editor, and has a "Photoshop-like" feeling to it.
